REDMOND, Wash.â$”May 24, 2007â$”Players can get up close and personal with Earth’s most fascinating former inhabitants as Microsoft Game Studios and Blue Fang Games LLC today announced that Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals, the biggest expansion pack to date for the award-winning Zoo Tycoon 2 franchise, will be available on Windows®-based PCs this Fall. Sounds like an interesting addition to a fun little sim-game, but what I want next in an expansion for Zoo Tycoon 2 is mythical beats. We can expect the Dodo, Mastodon, and Saber-toothed Tiger to make an appearance, and the zoologist that resides inside us will have the chance to dig for fossils, bring the extinct animals back to life in a lab (I see a cloning backlash coming), and shoot dinosaurs with a tranq-gun. Scheduled for a fall release, Extinct Animals will introduce 30 new critters, and some more dinosaurs. Microsoft announced a new expansion pack today, Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals, and according to the press release, it is the largest expansion for the game to date.
